Combined Events Indoor International Report

Last weekend Aiden Davies competed for the GB & NI Athletic Team, in the Combined Events International Indoor match at Sheffield EIS.

He had a really successful weekend scoring PBs throughout the two days of competition and finishing the weekend in 4th place in the U20M Heptathlon with an overall personal best score of 5067 points.

This score puts him into 19th place in the All-time rankings for an U20 male indoor Heptathlon.

South Yorkshire Indoor Series Match 3

Message from Les Grant:

South Yorkshire Indoor Series Match 3 is on Saturday 15th February at EIS Sheffield. Please could you let me know what 3 events each of the athletes will be competing in.
Long Jump – all age groups
60m – all age groups
shot – all age groups
150m, 600m – Under 11’s
200m, 1000m – Under 13’s and Under 15’s

Please let me know all the events by Tuesday 11th February at the latest.

I am sure you are all aware that we are starting a new running course called the Doncaster Pacers on 4 February, this is aimed at people who want to start running and we will help them take their first steps.  The 9 week course is £40 and we will give them coached sessions at 6pm Tues and Thurs evenings.  At the end of the course they will be invited to become full DAC members with a deduction of £40 from the joining fee.  Full details here, please spread the word.

Northern Cross Country Championships – 25/01/2014

On a very muddy course, the following DAC athletes competed:

Well done to Bertie Houghton who ran un the Junior Men category, he finished in 16th place with a time of 29:00.

Well done to Georgina Weston who ran in the Junior Women category, she finished in 48th place with a time of 29:35.

Well done to Molly Butterworth, U15 Girl, she finished in 39th place with a time of 17:06.

The entries for Doncaster Athletic Club hosted races are now live:

Sandall Beat 10k           Wednesday 11th June 2014

Cusworth 10k                Sunday 5th October 2014

The Cusworth 10k hosts the Yorkshire Vets Championships as part of the race which will increase the numbers participating considerably, generating much needed revenue to our club.

Do you want to Learn to Run – we can help!

For people wanting to start running who feel they have low fitness levels we offer a new running group called Doncaster Pacers.  This is a no-nonsense fun course that will make you feel great without the need to follow strange diets and take pills, at the end you should be able to run for 30 minutes or run 5k.  Our first group starts on the 4 February, places are limited so don’t delay in getting your place reserved, full details here.

The course offers great value for money at £40 for 9 weeks of coached training sessions delivered over 22 days.  At the end of the course you can join Doncaster Athletic Club for just £25 (and this includes a vest).  So all you pay until 2015 is £65 for the full use of our 1st class training, coaching and changing facilities.  We now have 501 members so we have a great community of all abilities!
