PBs All Round for our Combined Events Athletes at the National Championships.

This weekend our U20 Combined Events athletes took part in the England Athletics Senior/U20 Outdoor Combined Events championships at Bedford and all came away with a host of individual and overall personal best performances, despite less than perfect conditions on day 1 of the event.

AIDEN DAVIES – In the U20 Men’s Decathlon, Aiden earned a Silver medal with an overall PB score of 6726 – 383 points more than his previous best, set at the 2013 English Schools finals, where he also took the Silver medal.

CaptureThe competition didn’t start well for Aiden – the weather conditions for the 100m were wet and miserable and both his day 1 jumps were below par, due to a re-occurrence of his knee problems. He did however manage to pull out a personal best Shot Putt of 13.33m and an outdoor P.B. in the 400m of 49.38.

Results Update 25 May 2014 – Great Baddow 10 Mile, Chester half, Askern 10k, Parkruns and Edinburgh Races

Endmund Carr Great Baddow 10 Mile – 18 May 2014

Dave Sedgwick had a great race on what was a very hot day, Dave run another PB (13 seconds)  finishing with a chip time of 57:40 in 5th place.  Full results here.

18 May 2014 – Chester Half Marathon

Well done to new member Rebecca Jackson F40 who ran this half marathon in 2:18:58 finishing in 3981st place out of 5375 athletes

Askern 10k – 21 May 2014

Simon Wright mad a welcome return to racing with his first performance of 2014 where he won the V45 category.  Simon is a big inspiration for his Capturefellow runners at DAC and he was first DAC runner home.

Mick Page won the V60 category and Philip Bussey won the M65 category.

Great East Anglia Run 10k – 4 May 2014

Kev Newman and Mick Page ran some great times in this race.  Kev is ranked 12th on UKA for V55 and Mick is ranked 12th on UKA for V60.

The Trunce – 12 May 2014

Having not tried this off road race for a couple of years I thought I would give it a go and I was pleased to run a PB (1 second), I finished with a time of 30:35 for the very tough 3.8 mile off road race.  Next race is on 2 June with 6 more races this year.1
