Do you want to learn to run – we can help!

Our next beginners course for new runners starts on Tuesday, September the 9th and it is filling up fast, we already have over 25 people signed up.  The course is very gentle and aimed at people that don’t think they can run, at the end of 9 weeks you will be able to run for 30 minutes and it offers fantastic value for money at £40, this includes membership until 2016 so 15 months of coaching and support for only £40, so at the end of the 9 week beginners course we work with you and support you through your running.  Everyone who completes the course will get a framed certificate.

During the beginners course we give you between 2 and 3 coached sessions each week (and this continues when you finish the course), we also bake treats for you on special occasions, we offer free injury prevention talks, motivational talks and nutrition talks. Our team of run leaders and coaches is the best in the region.  Click here for more details and to sign up.  You can ring Janet on 07769 654610 or Martin on 07916 659740.  Or send a message by clicking here.

We have booked the players lounge at the Keepmoat Stadium on the 9 September from 5:45 to have a chat and complete the application forms etc, we have free car parking as well as toilet and shower facilities all included.

If you can already run at any pace give us a try for free and join one of our 6 existing groups, we have the perfect group for you weather you just want to be a social runner or a marathon runner.  We are also the only athletics club in Doncaster to offer coaching for children from age 5+.

All our coaches and other helpers are volunteers so all money raised goes back into supporting our junior and senior members.

 Belper 30k – 17 August 2014

Sharon Fieldhouse completed this tough off road 30k as part of her training for the Munich Marathon in 7 weeks, I think this is was the longest run Sharon has ever done!  She finished with a time of 4:14:49.  Amazing running Sharon and hopefully you have recovered well.  I am sure she was grateful for Keith Lindley keeping her going.

Fleetwood Half Marathon – 14 August 2014

Massive congratulations to James Smith who took a fantastic 3:07 off his half marathon PB to finish with a time of 1:21:23 in 16th place.  James is training for the Berlin Marathon and he is on the best form of his life!

CaptureLeek Half Marathon – 17 August 2014

I am currently marathon training and wanted to have a go at a half marathon to see where I am with my training, I should have picked a flatter one with 370m of climb but it was a nice low key race with amazing views.  Runners world gives the race a PB potential of 20%.  I finished in 12th place with a time of 84:33.  The winner finished in 77:10.
