Manchester Half Marathon – 29 May 2016

Dawn finished in 5913th place with a time of 2:36:54, she went through 10k in 13237843_821899501244955_6597992520850039942_n1:09:42 and 10 Miles in 1:57:21.

Dawn said “I did it! Very hot today but it was amazing! 2:32 for my first ever. Feeling a bit emotional. Last mile was a killer but I managed a sprint finish shouting this is for you Linsey Brennan as I crossed the line. I did it.”

Newry Half Marathon – 29 May 2016

James Smith and Sheela Das completed this half marathon.  James finished in 32nd place with a time of 1:30:35 and Shella finished in 434th place with a tine of 2:27:38.  Well done both of you.

London 10000 – 30 May 2016

James was delighted to run a 21 second PB in this 10k race:

Results update 23 May 2016 – The Trunce, Askern 10k, Manchester 10k, Normanby Duathlon and Parkruns

The Trunce – 16 May 2016

A record turnout at the Trunce for Doncaster AC with nine athletes taking13254148_10154804506969428_2112692517277178318_n
part, most for the first time.  Special mention to partially sighted runner, Sharon Maughan who was guided by Rose James.  This is a very technical route so well done both if you.   Top quality fun and value for money.  Next one in 2 weeks.  Marie demonstrating good technique for running through the River Don, what a fantastic photograph.

Medals galore from the county championships

Sophie Mills wins the u17w 200m championship title into a headwind in 26.10s at the Nottinghamshire county championships and was also the runner up in the 100m in 12.61s.  New Doncaster AC junior member Morgan Spink also won silver medals and set pbs in the u15 girls 800m(2.25.42) long jump in 4.81m and silver medals high jump and 75m hurdles and recorded a new personal best time in the 200m in 26.84s.

At the Yorkshire Championships saw Nicole Lannie break the club record for u15 girls 75m hurdles with an excellent time of 11.53s and won the gold medal in the final,  Kirbi Taylor was the runner up in the 75m hurdles final with a personal best time of 12.16s and the silver medal podium position.  Ava Jones was the runner up for the u13s girls 80m in a fantastic time of 10.64s and the silver medal position.  Nicole Lannie  also won the Shot with a creditable throw of 10.17m.  Joe McGrath won gold in the u20 mens 100m in 10.67s, just outside his lifetime best.   Rhys Jackson won the silver in the u17m 400m in a personal best time of 53.11s, Genevieve Moore won the Silver medal also in the 400m for u20 women in a personal best time of 63.49s.  Mollie Butterworth set a new club record for the u17 womens 800m in 2.19.28 and the bronze medal,  Mollie also won silver in the 1500m in 5.04.96.  Callum Wilson won bronze for the u20m 1500m.  Les Grant  won bronze in the men’s 400m hurdles. George Philips won gold in the u20m 2000m steeplechase.  Callum Wright won silver in the u20m long jump in 5.81m, Adam Allam won a bronze medal in the u13boys shot, with a throw of 6.08m.

Road League – Penistone and Brodsworth

Catching up on Road League Results:

We had a great season in 2016 with Nicola Devine 13178934_10154177547449904_4879360272707897298_nfinishing in 1st place for the senior ladies (this was Nicola’s first attempt at the road league) and Groege Phillips finishing in second place for the senior men.

Team Positions:  Senior Men – Doncaster AC finished in 3rd place and Ladies finished in 7th place.
