Sandall Beat 10k cancelled in 2017 :-(

It is with regret that we have to cancel The Sandall Beat 10k scheduled to take place on Wednesday 14th June 2017. We were notified only yesterday that due to pitch renovation and site works we cannot access the venue until September, which would be too late in the year for an evening race. We have looked at other venues but without success.

The race will go ahead next year on Wednesday 13th June 2018, having been assured by the Doncaster Knights Directors that the site will be available to us, we have therefore rolled forward all on-line entries to next year but if you would prefer a refund contact me at so that this can be arranged. If you entered by post we will be returning your fee by cheque in the next few days.

You will appreciate we are absolutely devastated in having to cancel this popular event but in the circumstances have no choice. We hope you will continue to support the race going forward in the future and thank-you for your understanding.

DAC Chairman and Race Director

Road League Results 2017

South Yorkshire Road League – what a great season we had this year.  I have attached the individual results for the club for all 4 races below – its important you check these are correct at our internal club awards will be based on these results.  Thanks to all that competed!  Also thanks to all who helped organise the league, which almost did not happen this year.  Special mention to all that guided Sharon Maughan including Stephen Layland, Keith Lindley, Allan Carson and Marie-Louise Taylor.

Its always tough to get a team out for the 4 races, well done to our ladies finished 4th out of 13 teams.  Our Vet Men showed strength and depth finishing 1st by 23 minutes (out of 12 teams).  The full team positions can be found at the bottom of this post.

Road League notes for Penistone – 10 May 2017

The football club is in the centre of Penistone near the Railway Station. There is some parking at the club, as directed by marshals and plenty of free car parks in the town. Toilets are in the football ground.. Please do NOT go to the toilet in local resident’s gardens!

The presentations will be made as soon as possible in the club house. If you are a winner please stay to collect your prize or ask someone to collect it for you

Jumps & Throws Evening

Full results for last week’s Jumps & Throws Evening are now available on the Power of 10. Despite having far more entries on the day than we expected from the advanced entries, the whole event ran well and turned out to be very popular. We hope to develop it further for next year and will take on board the feedback we’ve received.

Please contact Terry Winmill if you spot any errors.
