Great North Run – 9 September 2018

Jannette Walters wrote “Great North Run I  you! Sooo emotional Red Arrows, Tyne Bridge, the noise thro tunnels unbelievable. Amazing. But my slowest ever half marathon. With 57600 runners and three complete stops for people collapsing with one being resuscitated by paramedics at mile 6 I just had to go with the flow. So crowded. Thank you all for your good luck wishes and knowing I was being tracked def helped! I will never ever forget this one that’s for sure. Best half mara experience ever Xxx”

I know our runners are great full to all those who supported them, Martyn Walters once again supported our runners and we hope he is recovering from his injury.  Brilliant running by our 16 runners.  Please let me know if I have missed any of our runners off (the results are not easy to search) Continue reading

The Joust 24 Hour Endurance Event

Through farmers fields, through a beautiful country village (check point 1 is in a pub car park, which quite a few runners took advantage of) along rubble paths etc.. what a scenic route.. but hard underfoot. Even in the farmers fields that we were running through the soil was hard and lumpy, the gravel parts were loose and the uneven stones caused uncomfortable steps. Continue reading
