Results update 12 February 2020 – Nottingham 5k and parkruns

Nottingham 5k Winter Series 2019/2020

Well done to Shaz Wood who on 05/02/2020 finished with a time of 21:32, winning her age group and finishing 5th lady overall.

“I entered this little series of 5ks to motivate myself back into training after my forced lay off. It turned into more like a way of tracking my progress as my training became more consistent with each week seeing more miles and the faster finishing times followed with each race.

I finished 10th, 5th, 3rd and 5th across the four races and won my category at every one I was thrilled to discover I had finished fourth overall for the series (best three races counted) and first in my category. The wine as my winnings went down well with the mister too. ☺️

Next time i will check how far away a race is before I sign up though….. 😂🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️”

Success for Doncaster at the Northern U13/U15 Indoor Championships

Well done to all the Doncaster athletes who completed in the Northern Athletics Indoor Under 13 and Under 15 championships.

There were some great performances with athletes achieving both Season Best and Personal Best Performances.

Doncaster Athletes also achieved 3 medals at the Championships

Phoebe Cooper won Bronze in both the Under 13 Girls Long Jump and the Shot.

Josh Boyer won Bronze in the Under 15 Boys High Jump.

Also, a special mention to Rafi Munir who reached the final of the Under 15 boys 60m in his first ever competition. He got faster in each of the 3 rounds and if my calculations are correct, he posted the fastest time by a Doncaster Under 15 male athlete since 2012.

Well done to all the athletes:

Phoebe Cooper, Eve Gibbons, Ellie Barnes, Trinity Dooley-Williams, Nathan Kadejo, Rafi Munir and Josh Boyer.
