Dorney Lake Triathlon – 11 May 2019

Report by Joanne Reynolds “Saturday 11th May I had my first (sprint) triathlon. It was at Dorney lake near Windsor which is where they do the Olympic rowing so is a lovely venue. Track repairs update

Please note the track repairs have been delayed due to the recent heavy rain.

All of the red areas have received 3 days of power washing and the taping off of the effected areas has had to be postoned until tomorrow. The spraying is to start on Sunday as the contractors need the track to be dry with low wind levels.

The paint spraying will take until Wednesday, it needs all day to dry Thursday and the lane markings applied on Friday, with any last minute work on Saturday.

Therefore the site must remain closed all of next week. The cabin will be open from 5pm to 7.30pm on Tuesday and Thursday.

PLEASE NOTE THE SECONDARY SCHOOL TRIALS SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY 16TH MAY HAVE BEEN CANCELLED AND I AWAIT CONFIRMATION THEY WILL NOW TAKE PLACE ON MONDAY 20TH. THE NORTHERN LEAGUE FIXTURE WILL GO AHEAD ON 19TH MAY.

Members are advised to check with their coaches as it is still possible to meet at the gate and use the toilets, then train off site. Thankyou for your patience, it will be worth the inconvenience. Kev
