We need volunteers for race marshals at the Doncaster town centre 5k on Wednesday the 10h of July. This is your chance to put something back into your club and help make this another successful event for DAC. If you’re not running, could you please spare a couple of hours to help marshal the route. We will be meeting outside the Mansion House at 6:00. Anyone can help out, not just DAC/Pacer members but family and friends are all welcome to come along and marshal – just message me by commenting under this post if you are free – the more marshals the better as we can then cover and even double up at stations.

Just to let you know that on Saturday 6th July
there will be a Saturday Junior Club combined session for all members from
08.30 to 09.30. This is due the South
Yorkshire Track and Field Event taking place on that day.
The following Saturday
will we will be back to normal i.e. 9-10 and 10-11.
After much fun sorting the teams out, we took 27 runners to the South Yorkshire Road Relay Championships. Four men’s teams comprising two senior and two V40 teams, Three ladies teams comprising a F45, a F35 and a senior ladies team and One M60 team (which was unfortunately incomplete due to illness). Several of our runners had not competed in this sort of event before so well done for having a go. Everyone was in the correct place at the correct time 😊
The course starts and finishes at Low Bradfield, the first half mile is a climb, then its down hill or flat to about 2 miles. The hill between 2 and 2.75 miles is very tough to run up, following this is a cracking descent of 0.5 miles and a flat finish taking us to 3.5 miles.
Our senior men’s team finished 12th overall and
our V40 team chased as hard as they could, finishing in 17th place
(4th V40 team).
The following runners made it into the fastest 50, George Rowland 35th, Peter Badger 42nd and James Osborne 49th.
This is a very inclusive event, give it a go next year. Well done everyone.
