Years coaching: Approximately Seven years

Coaching Background:

Initially I started coaching my favourite event which is High Jump when the stadium first opened in 2006. After 12 months I decided that coaching combined events is what I really wanted to do with a philosophy of training Run, jump and throw on each session for developing athletes.

I have never looked back and have had the pleasure to coach two athletes to international honours in combined events. Along the way I have also had a great deal of success at individual events regionally and nationally, this has again culminated in International representation.

In 2010 I was invited to attend the National combined event group by Toni Minichiello and became an official Coach Mentee on the program 12 month later. This gives me regular access to top coaches and an opportunity to learn from other coaches working with combined event athletes.

Awards achieved

2011 – Doncaster Athletic Club –Outstanding achievement award

2012 – Doncaster Free Press Amateur Coach of the year

Training:

At present I coach a small group of combined event athletes and some other athletes at High jump and Shot. Over the next six months I am looking to take on new athletes as older ones move onto university.

Athletic Background:

I competed at combined events up to 18 years of age with high jump been my best event. I went to the English schools three times with mixed experiences, came third once, carried off injured on another and didn’t clear my opening height on the last.
