Sponsored by Meters to Miles, Doncaster AC present Doncaster's classic race of the year on Wednesday 14th July 2010, a fast three lap course around the town centre for 5K runners and one lap for fun runners. Large home crowds line the route which is well marshalled with authorised road closures and police support.
This year will mark the 17th year for this event which started in 1994. The races start at 7pm with the Johnymac Family 1 mile Fun Run which has been named in memory of one of our most popular and valued club members John McHale who passed away prematurely this year aged just 36.
The second race of the night is the competitive Vets race starting at 7:30pm and the final race will be the Open race starting at 8pm. The course record is shared by Dave Tune and Jason Ward with a time of 14:28 which Dave set in 1996 and Jason equalled in 2003. The ladies record is held by Birhan Dagne in a time of 16:35, set in 1998.
This event traditionally attracts top runners from around the region, why not come and join us in what is sure to be great entertainment for all the family.
