After several months in the compilation, the Directors of Doncaster Athletic Club have now put together their updated Strategic & Business Development Plans for the period 2010-2014. These plans outline the key priorities being addressed, and DACs' aspirations over the next five years of its development. Whilst these plans will constantly change, in the light of future developments, they lay down a framework for the Directors, and every member of the club to work towards. The membership were asked for their input, as to what they considered should be in this plan, and their thoughts have been included in putting it together.
Full implementation would ultimately see the club acquire a Clubhouse, in addition to an indoor training and competition arena. This would give Doncaster A.C. some of the best athletic facilities in the country, acting as a magnet to local youngsters who aspire to be the next Jessica Ennis, or Usain Bolt.
Such facilities would enable the club to provide a first class coaching environment all year round, as well as being able to host increasingly more prestigious events. As such, this will encourage increasing numbers from within the community to take up athletics, both in the short term, and for many years to come, and hopefully providing Doncaster with the "Olympic Legacy" referred to by Lord Sebastian Coe.
