LEAHA AND WILLIAM TRIUMPH AT CPISRA WORLD GAMES 2015

Doncaster Athletic Club athletes Leaha Dixon and William Baxter Capturehave brought medals back to the town after competing for England in their first international competition. Sixteen year old Leaha smashed her personal best by two seconds in the 400m women’s T35 race to take silver

CaptureWilliam, 20, won three golds in the men’s F36 discus, javelin and shot put, achieving personal best throws in both javelin and shot. William was also drafted in at the last minute to run in the 4x100m relay – the last event of the Games – and helped England men’s B team to secure silver medal.

The multisport Games for athletes with cerebral palsy were held in Nottingham from 6-16 August attracted 13 nations from as far away as Brazil, Australia, Russia and Japan. Over 400 athletes took part and five world records were broken in track and field during the Games.
