The Fat Boys Stanage Struggle
Keith Lindley Reports:
“The Fat Boys Stanage struggle” just under 10k but with an 1150ft climb, the first two miles being straight uphill from Hathersage Cricket pitch to the top of Stanage Edge. I finished in a time of 68.02, I am struggling to get actual placings. However the race was the last leg of 6 of “The Outside Challenge Series” Of 1020 runners who took part in one or more of the 6 fell races I was placed 127th overall and 22nd out of 147 in the male 50-60 category.
On a different note I am considering an attempt on Mount Kilimanjaro (walking not running) perhaps in March or April 2015. If any other club members are tentatively interested I would be glad to hear from them to have a preliminary chat, its only an idea at present. As a rough guide I am led to believe that cost can be between 3 and 5k per person.
