Vale of York 10 Mile – 14 April 2019

Well done to James Osborne for running a new PB of 57:53, he finished the race in 12th place. This means Jimmy entered our all time top ten in 5th place, a great result.

Paris Marathon – 14 April 2019

Darren wrote “Thank you to everyone for your kind words of encouragement. I tried my best (although knowing it was going to be difficult after a 3 day stomach bug!!!). All went well and then the cramps took over & could barely run 200m in the last 5 km. but I made it and so pleased I did” Darren finished with a time of 3:25:40 which is a great time considering he was unwell.

Sheffield Half Marathon – 14 April 2019

Sheffield Half results, big shout out to Stuart Lindsay who has been going through a ruff spell and to Vicky Lindley who I think ran her 1st half. Sorry you 2, I did not spot you so no photos. Well done to all the rest, looks like you had a great time and bounce back Kate Ball x Photos of a few runners, then the blister sisters and ladies (some mad filters sorry), then our walk after https://www.flickr.com/…/114…/albums/72157679875131838/page1

Darren wrote “I made a late decision to run today’s half with the dac crazy gang. It turned out to be the most amazing birthday I can remember.
Never in as long as I can remember have I felt so part of something which is an absolutely massive deal for me.
I went through every emotion today happiness a touch of sadness thinking about mates I’ve lost, but mostly felt warmth love and an unwavering support from my friends. Until today I honestly didn’t realise how important you lot are to me. So from me to you thank you so so much xxx xxx
You made what would have probably been an unremarkable 48th milestone in to the best birthday I can remember in my 48 years “

Well done to Daz Lambert for planning the Blister Sisters, got in the papers and on the radio.

Colliery Canter – 13 April 2019

Elaine Green said “Colliery Canter race report – is this okay? Well off we went to try one of the ‘Its grim up north’ races. We arrived at the venue in Barnsley and it was extremely windy and cold. The atmosphere was very relaxed with just a couple of hundred runners. The route was a 5 mile trail circuit with people choosing to do 5,10,15,20 and full marathon distances setting off at different times during the day. The course was lovely with some fab views over the area. There’s was one hill which took my breath away but the rest of the route was mostly flat. The goodie bag included a gorgeous medal, a bottle of beer, cider or lager and a bar of dairy milk. Finishing line treats included a variety of homemade cakes, salty new potatoes, crisps, sweets and fizzy pop. I am usually a nervous wreck before a race but this had a lovely relaxed atmosphere the nerves didn’t appear. I would recommend trying one of these races if you want chilled out and lots of cakes.”

5 Miles – Sarah Smith in 13th place with a time of 49:52. Jeannette Walters in 18th place with a time of 52:29. Elaine Green in 21st place with a time of 53:54.
