Horwich 5km – 17 June 2017

Well done to our brilliant runners competing in the British Masters at Horwich.  The results are not available yet but provisionally Simon Wright took silver finishing with a time of 16:20ish, Kevin Newman took silver with a time of 18:29.  And to get the team the silver medal Phil Bussey ran 21:27.  All times TBC but wonderful running all!

Darrington 5 Mile – 16 June 2017

Carl Ryde won the race with a time of 27:33, awesome running as always.  190 runners finished the race on what was a very warm day.

The Wall – 69 Miles

Thank you for all your support over the weekend.

‘The Wall’ aka Hadrian’s wall is a challenge to run 69 miles through Hardrians Country within 24 hours….just about made it.

I knew mentally that I could do the distance, my challenge was to get Sharon round it in one piece. Sharon is visually impaired and can’t see very well once it gets dark.

The only time I thought gosh! Was when we were faced with stepping stones through a river after being on our feet for approximately 19 hours.  Well, we made it to the overside with the help of some guys bringing up our rears!!

Once again thank you….my next challenge will be short and sweet!

Chase the Train – 17 June 2017

Peter Vickers beet the train!  Beautiful run. Plus the whole train thing is great – family rode on the train and got off at Goathland just in time for high fives. It was just way too hot. Stunning scenery. A beer instead of a T-shirt at the end – one to pencil in for 2018.

Peter finished in 19th place with a time of 1:03:42 – great result, 465 runners finished.

Hull 10k – 19 June 2017

Some great performances from our runners at a very hot Hull 10k race, well done all.

Glynn said “Blimey that was a hot one this morning. My phone is broke that’s why this as only just been put on here. It was nice to be able to go out and run this race though this year. Still enjoying the buzz of racing…”
