Percy Pud 10k – 4 December 2016

Another great weekend of racing for the club.  2119 runners finished the race with 15284069_10211611172220737_6153465618686378925_nSimon Wright winning his age group and Jayne Baldwin finishing second in her age group.  Well done to Dave and Phil for breaking 40 minutes, a big achievement and some massive PB’s.  G15317834_10211254320813130_3270184904191679677_n-1reat to see Nicola and Shaz making a strong comeback after injury.  Another PB for Sharon, PB’s also for Penny and Stephanie.  Darren ran with Penny to help her get the PB and Chris Wright ran his first 10k race.

Edwinstowe 10k Trail Race – 4 December 2016

For those who wanted some off road fun, the festive Edwinstowe 10k was just the mjticket.  Great conditions on the day, hardly any mud on the ground, dry and cool.  The race is gently undulating which suits me very well.

PB’s for Chris Lawson, George Laing, Katherine Willett, Jody Savage, Sarah Louise Smith.  Seasons Best times for Marie and Karey.

592 runners finished the race.  This is a big race for the local running community with just about every runner from Doncaster who was not at Percy Pud having a go at Edwinstowe.

Karen Lynch stopped to help an injured runner, a rjvery kind act which cost her several minutes.

Martin James (blog here) was delighted to finish in 3rd place, beating his previous time on the course last year by about three and a half minutes.  Rose James also ran about 2 minutes quicker than last year.

This race is highly recommended for anyone wanting to try trail racing next year.

Parkruns – 3 December 2016

PB’s for Mark WEBSTER, David WATTS, Lee MILBURN, Daniel ORME, George ROWLAND, Jess ROWLAND and Stephen HANBY.

At Doncaster first man to finish was Lee MILBURN running a massive 28 second PB.  First lady to finish was Jess ROWLAND  running another great PB of 13 seconds.  Top 3 age grade to finish were Rosemary ARMSTRONG, George ROWLAND and Jess ROWLAND.

Congratulations to Doncaster Parkrun who won the 2016 Doncaster Community and Voluntary Sector Awards at the Keepmoat.
