Results update 9 February 2014 – Northern Indoor Championships and Parkrun
Northern Indoor Championships
Doncaster Athletics Club athlete Nicole Lannie, was in amazing form at the Northern Indoor Championships at the EIS recently. Her first event was the high jump, Nicole cleared all the early rounds from the starting height of 1.20m, the winning and Gold medal jump was a first round clearance of 1.35m, recording a new personal best for the event. The bar at 1.40m was more of a challenge, she had a good go at this height, just glancing and knocking the bar off on all three of her attempts. The winning height of 1.35m puts Nicole 5th in the UK under 13 girls rankings.
Three hours later she was back competing in the long jump and produced another impressive display of jumps all over 4m, Nicole’s second round jump and a new personal best of 4.33m secured the bronze medal, she missed out by just few cm for first place, Nicole’s best jump puts her in 8th place in the UK under 13 girls rankings.
Nicole also competed in the 60m sprint and reached the semi final with a new personal best time of 8.97 seconds. Mike Cooke.
Doncaster Parkrun – 8 February 2014
Nice sunny morning but quite wet underfoot – slight change to the course to try to avoid the worse of the standing water. Great running by everyone, well done to William Amps who ran for the first time and Bill Topping for running a new PB!

“I am running the Reading Half on 2/3/2014 with my 17 yr old nephew in aid of St Johns Hospice. The hospice staff cared for mum in the last weeks of her illness and my sister and I cannot praise them enough.I hope by running this race we can raise some money towards the refurbishment of the hospice which is currently under way and should be completed by June 2014. All the details can be found on our just giving page:
