LEAHA AND WILLIAM TO TAKE ON THE WORLD!

The hard slog of winter training has paid off for two outstanding, young Doncaster Athletic Club athletes who have been selected to represent England in the forthcoming CPISRA 2015 World Games. 15 year old Leaha Dixon has been picked to run 400m in the T35 class and 19 year old William Baxter will compete in shot, discus and javelin in the F36 class. The duo were selected on the basis of early season competition results and national rankings.

The Games will be held in August in the heart of Nottingham with the majority of events taking place at the new Harvey Hadden Sports Complex. Competitors from 18 countries will make this a truly international, multisport event. The competition programme will include Athletics (including Race Running); Bowls; Swimming; Table Cricket and Para-Taekwondo. The Games will also stage the inaugural IFCPF Under 19 CP Football 7-a-side World Championships.

In the past these games have been a major stepping stone for athletes that have gone on to represent Great Britain at the highest level.

Good luck Leaha and William!
