Parkrun birthday – Its the Doncaster Parkrun’s birthday on Saturday 24 September. People are invited to fetch cakes etc to help create a great feast at the end. Please run in Doncaster AC Vests (or T-shirts) available from the cabin!
Simon Wright
Simon competed twice this weekend, first at the YVAA XC Champs where he won the race, and then on Sunday he ran a seasons best 5000m with a time of 16:38.
Scottish Half Marathon – 18 September 2016
George Laing (M55) tackled the Scottish Half Marathon, finishing in 222nd place (4th in age group) with the amazing time of 1:35:51.
Hull Marathon – 18 September 2016
Neil Wood had a storming run, finishing in 3:17:52, 12th in his age group.
Relay Team Tickhill Old Boys, Simon Scully (DAC) and Alan Smith did the Hull Marathon 2 man relay, finishing in 3:20:56, with Simon doing his 20.4km leg in 1:24:34.
Lady Bower 50 Mile – 18 September 2016
We entered this race about a year ago and forgot about it. Thanks to the supporters, particularly Susan Hookway, Tony, Stu Bartley and Jim Fletcher (and everyone else). Bad luck to Martin Hookway who had to pull out after 25 miles.
This was Marie’s first ultra and she did amazing enjoying herself all day. Martin had a good run but faded in the second half – the usual pacing issues. Brilliant weather all day. Nice course suitable for road shoes.
1st Place was won by Matt Cook in a time of 6:38. 1st lady was Gillian Johnson with a time of 7:50 (5th overall).

Parkruns – 17 September 2016
Caroline WHEELHOUSE was first lady to finish and highest age grade athlete to finish at Scunthorpe. Caroline was ranked 4th age grade across all parkruns held! The club wishes Caroline a great run next week in her Marathon.
At Doncaster first to finish for DAC was Lee MILBURN with a nice PB, going to break 18 soon. First lady was Nicola DEVINE.
