Results update – 24 August 2014 – Belper 30k, Leek + Fleetwood Half Marathons and 4 parkruns!
Belper 30k – 17 August 2014
Sharon Fieldhouse completed this tough off road 30k as part of her training for the Munich Marathon in 7 weeks, I think this is was the longest run Sharon has ever done! She finished with a time of 4:14:49. Amazing running Sharon and hopefully you have recovered well. I am sure she was grateful for Keith Lindley keeping her going.
Fleetwood Half Marathon – 14 August 2014
Massive congratulations to James Smith who took a fantastic 3:07 off his half marathon PB to finish with a time of 1:21:23 in 16th place. James is training for the Berlin Marathon and he is on the best form of his life!
Leek Half Marathon – 17 August 2014
I am currently marathon training and wanted to have a go at a half marathon to see where I am with my training, I should have picked a flatter one with 370m of climb but it was a nice low key race with amazing views. Runners world gives the race a PB potential of 20%. I finished in 12th place with a time of 84:33. The winner finished in 77:10.
Parkrun Report – 23 August 2014
Nice to see Doncaster AC parkrunner’s getting out and about to try other parkruns. In the UK there are 284 to pick from so don’t for get your barcode.
At Forest of Dean George and Joseph were both first timers, well done guys.
At Scunthorpe Phil Bussey and Kevin Newman both set new age category records.
At Cleethorpes Dawn Fletcher ran a new PB on the course by a massive minute and three quarters!
And finally, at Doncaster parkrun welcome to first timer Chris Moran who won the event. Hope you enjoyed the run!
New PB’s for Andrea Simpkin (27 seconds!), Vicky Davies (56 seconds!) and Martin Godfrey (1:08!). And a welcome return by Julie Guest who has been injured. Rosemary Armstrong was second highest age graded athlete to finish. Welcome also to Jo Howe who I missed off last week.
