Results Update 25 May 2014 – Great Baddow 10 Mile, Chester half, Askern 10k, Parkruns and Edinburgh Races

Endmund Carr Great Baddow 10 Mile – 18 May 2014

Dave Sedgwick had a great race on what was a very hot day, Dave run another PB (13 seconds)  finishing with a chip time of 57:40 in 5th place.  Full results here.

18 May 2014 – Chester Half Marathon

Well done to new member Rebecca Jackson F40 who ran this half marathon in 2:18:58 finishing in 3981st place out of 5375 athletes

Askern 10k – 21 May 2014

Simon Wright mad a welcome return to racing with his first performance of 2014 where he won the V45 category.  Simon is a big inspiration for his Capturefellow runners at DAC and he was first DAC runner home.

Mick Page won the V60 category and Philip Bussey won the M65 category.

Scunthorpe parkrun – 24 May 2014Capture

Caroline Wheelhouse had another great run at Scunthorpe, she ran a PB on the course by 16 seconds and was first lady to finish with a time of 20:02.  Caroline is now age graded 90.35%.

Bradford parkrun – 24 May 2014

Andy Siddle won the Bradford parkrun by about a minute with a time of 17:35, just 11 seconds off his PB for the course, well done Andy.

Doncaster parkrun – 24 May 2014

Fist runner home was Matty Smith from Scunthorpe with a time of 17:42.

CaptureHighest age graded runners was Rosemary Armstrong and she ran a PB of 7 seconds.

First DAC runner home was George Philips who finished second.CaptureCapture

PB’s for Michael Forrester (19 seconds), Marie-Louise Taylor (Second lady to finish and PB was be 24 seconds), Sue and Ken Greaves (by 30 seconds).

Ken won the monthly prize for park runner of the month.

Dave Sedgwick ran the 10k.  Dave said “Really tough course and ran against Harry Summers who is an Australian Commonwealth games athlete and Derek Hawkins who is a GB international. Came 7 th in 35.32s. Nowhere near pb but ran ok to be fair. It was just so hilly early on!!”

Martin Hookway ran the Marathon finishing with a time of approx 3:39 having suffered from cramp during the race and going into the race with a strapped up knee and sore achilles.  Martin has the York Marathon later in the year as well as Thunder Run.  Only 4 weeks ago Martin completed the Highland Fling 53 mile ultra.
