National Cross Country Championships – 25 February 2017
I don’t think that a better Cross Country experience exists than the National Cross Country championships. Clubs from all over the country with athletes of all abilities competing against the best runners the sport has to offer. This event is a must for all age groups U13 upwards. Thanks to Jamie Westerman for guiding Sharon Maughan. Well done to all our athletes!
Senior Men – 388th Lee Milburn 47:39, 567th Martin James 49:58, 996th Peter Badger 55:10.
Senior Women – 200th Nicola Devine 36:04, 427th Shaz Wood 41:03, 470th Rose James 41:53, 479th Karen Lynch 42:12, 698th Sharon Maughan 49:16. The ladies team finished in 57th place.
U13 Boys – 276th Henry Cullen 14:48, 292nd Edward Phillips 14:54, 374th Ben Metcalfe 15:34.
Junior Men – 90th Rhys Gibson 36:44, 98th George Phillips 37:04.
U17 Men – 167th Nishan Singh 23:43.

Harewood House 10k – Angie Clarke – 27 February 2017
Well I managed 10K in 1 hour 9 minutes today thanks to Doncaster pacers.. the most I had run was 5k back in December, and in 2 months you got me to double that.. I really enjoyed the Harewood house run today.. we even saw a large flock of deer running in front of us!
Snake Lane 10 Mile – 27 February 2017
Local favourite race, the Snake Lane 10 took place on Sunday, the conditions at the start looked ok but a bit windy. This is quite a rural road race and I thin
k its far to say its a bit hilly. The first half is quite fast with some nice descents, and the wind was behind the runners. This made the second half quite brutal with what felt like a gale blowing directly in to us and some climbing to do.
We had a great turnout from the club with 16 Doncaster AC runners completing the race including birthday lady, Penny!
We had some great support from Jody and Andy Breeze, Claire’s partner, Darrians husband and Jane Kilkenny (with her son Zach). Sorry if I forgot anyone and it was amazing to have so much support.
Sharon Maughan, and Martin and Rose James did the double having competed in the National Cross Country Championships on Saturday and this on Sunday.

Special mention to Nicola Devine who ran (and was 1st lady at Doncaster), in the afternoon Nicola then did the National Cross Country championships.
Special mention to George Rowland finishing 1st at Clumber Park with a PB. his sister Jess Rowland was first female runner to finish, what an amazing family of runners.
