Snowdon Mountain race – 20 July 2019
Well done to Mariusz who finished in 122nd place with a time of 1:29:47.
Mariusz Felczerek said “Absolutely the best mountain race ever, highly recommend I never thought I would be able to run summit of Snowdon in 57 minutes and downhill is absolutely bonkers”.
Beacons Way Ultra 100 – 13 July 3019
Simon Jennings has written a superb blog report about his 100 mile ultra, this can be found here and an extract is below.
Simon was delighted to finish joint 8th, finishing with a time of 35 hours, 3 minutes and 30 seconds.
“My main goal was to get to the top of Pen y Fan before it got dark and it looked like that was going to be easy to achieve. I was taking my time though, mainly because I wanted to take as many photos as possible and Jon caught up with me as I got to Criag Cwm Oergwm, and then about 15 mins later Rhys caught up as well, Rhys said that Chris had dropped out at cp05, he’d had enough and called it a day.
The three of us started the climb to the summit of Pen Y Fan.
The climb itself wasn’t too bad, you’ve already climbed half the height by that point and because it’s such a well-known route the path is great.
We got to the top to find Wayne, the race director, waiting at the summit and after a few quick photos, we headed over to Corn Du, the second-highest peak and then started the descent to cp06.”
Grimsby 10k – 21 July 2019
Lots of amazing performances, too many to list but a big PB and first sub 35 time for Jimmy, Simon Wright won his age group running his quickest 10k of the year. Phil Bussey continues to impress winning his age group, he is currently ranked 6th in the UK. Rosemary Armstrong also won her age group, well done all.

Round Donny Run – 21 July 2019
The second running of this 30km trail race. The total distance including walking between stages is probably around 20.5 miles. I clocked up 18.5 miles for the running sections so just about bang on 30k. It was a warm day (but several degrees cooler than last year).
The stage lengths varied from 800m up to 6.5 miles, so you can imagine the difference in pace.
We had good support around the course from the marshals and feed stations, lots of familiar faces 🙂
This kind of race is quite tactical, what you do between stages is up to you, run, walk or stop, eat, chat and regroup. I did the latter taking up to 16 minutes at the check points.
A nice medal for all finishers and a t-shirt. Prize winners from DAC were overall winner Martin James, First Lady Caroline Wheelhouse and in the pairs we had 2nd ladies with Rose James / Rebecca Coats, 2nd mixed with Marie Louise / Mark Webster and 2nd men with Stuart Lindsay / John Sheerin.
Amazing results by all our runners, I counted 22 of us!
