New York Marathon – 6 November 2016
Sharon wrote “Well I got round the NYM in one piece had to take it slower so I could get to the other end without too much pain. No way was I leaving without that medal lol George was amazing with his times and I think I did 5.58 it was a fab exp
erience and something I will never forget. Thanks for all your kind messages and support xx and thanks to Jan and Paul who have done a marathon between them today xxx see you all soon.”
George wrote “It was going well then the cramp set in, in 2006 didn’t think I’d be running again – 2016 NYC marathon!!!!!”
Becki wrote “Thank you everyone for your support. This was the hardest marathon I’ve ever run, the bridges were steep, open to the wind & cold in the shade. The support & live music was fantastic. Police presence extremely high, even snipers on the roofs through Queens. A few well earned drinks now”
Leeds Abbey Dash – 6 November 2016
Nice running all in cold conditions. Sarah Foster raced in our new design of T-Shirt for winter racing
– available at the cabin at the track. Sarah Machin wrote “first race running on my own
and I quite enjoyed it”, feeling fantastic! Joanne wrote “Leeds Abbey dash far toooooo cold for me…chilled to the bone!!! Still thawing out. At least I tried to pace Steve to run sub 40… I ran 39.57”. Claire Bunting was guided by Askern’s Stephen Leyland.

Derby 10 Mile – 6 November 2016
Well done to Ben Elliot who completed this race in 1:04:44 finishing in 43rd place. Ben raced hard yesterday at the National Cross Country Relays!
Parkruns
32 DAC runners took part in a parkrun this weekend. As a club Doncaster AC is ranked as the 34th largest parkrun club in the UK. 4351 parkruns have been completed by our athletes, that’s the equivalent of about 13,500 miles! Keep on running!
