Run or Dye Report – 10-10-2015

Well what an experience we had at chatsworth house run or dye on Sunday.

Around 40 DAC runners / pacers joined in with the colourful run.

We had a very early start leaving left the track at 7am, we had a foggy journey12088142_10208039132878834_7580378979817856068_n to chatsworth house by coach driven by Darren. We were lively and giddy on our outward journey. Registration took place and we got ready into our run or dye t-shirts, race numbers and bracelets from our goody bags. This went with our running gear, blue tutu’s and wigs. We were freezing.

The warm up at the stage began an hour before the run…..this is where the colour started. Dancing, stretching and lots of laughing. The runners were covering each other in amazing bright colours, then the Compere started throwing colour into the crowd…..we were covered in pink, blue, green, yellow, orange and purple powder.

We were warming up nicely.

Over at the start we went off in 3 minute waves. The ground underfoot was quite uneven terrain, lime stone, grass, puddles, hills and the odd path.

The support between members was great, the faster ones were there to cheer others over the finish line. When we had finished we had strict instructions from bus driver Darren to be as clean as possible on his coach. We stripped at the side of the bus, got as clean as we could, some wore pajamas/onesies/joggers. The journey back to Doncaster was quieter…..we were shattered.

We had money left over from the coach fee, also we didn’t need to pay for coach parking as Darren managed to find a path to park on. So we have £100 to split between the Chatsfield suit in memory of Andrew Moore who sadly passed away aged 32 recently, he was a very close friend of Trish Murphy-Rush and Arthritis UK to aid research into idiopathic Juvenile arthritis which my 4 year old niece suffers from.
