Track and Field officials – Training

Update – The Officials Course will take place on Saturday 24th November at XP SCHOOL. Could the volunteers attending collect paperwork from Kev to return to Kev asap so all fees can be paid on one invoice.

Thank you to all who have shown an interest 🙂

Doncaster AC is desperately short of track and field graded officials, who are vital if we intend to remain contenders at the YDL, Northern and South Yorkshire Leagues. Points are accrued at these events for the number of officials provided by each competing club and deducted where there is a shortfall (This is the principle reason why we were demoted at the lower YDL a couple of weeks ago).

To become an official, you have to attend a 2 day course and choose between a track official and field official. On completion of the course you become a level 1 official. After completing 6 matches you can apply to be assessed to become and a level 2 official. There are higher levels of officials based upon experience.

Parent helpers, whilst invaluable, do give us our full points allocation because we have to have a minimum number of level 2 officials. I would urge parents who currently help out and those that do not to apply to attend an officials course.
