| Message from UKA – for your information 29 July 2019 Dear Secretary UK Members Council Appointment; Representative of Clubs Affiliated in England The UK Members Council plays a vital role in examining the activities of UK Athletics and its Board members, acting on behalf of affiliated clubs and organisations. Members of the Council are elected or nominated – dependent on the sector of the sport they represent. Elected members serve a four year term of office and are eligible to serve a maximum of two terms of four years of office. Nominations are invited for one representative member of Clubs Affiliated in England. The closing date for receipt of nominations is Monday 16 September 2019 at 12:00 noon. Details of the role are available for ‘download here’ and are also available at http://www.uka.org.uk/governance/uk-members-council/ where further information on the structure and role of the Council can be found. If you choose to nominate a representative, please return the nomination form available for ‘download here’ duly completed and signed by email to elections@uka.org.uk. If more than one nomination is received, then a ballot will be held and the names of the successful candidate will be announced at the Annual General Meeting of the UK Members Council on Friday 13 December 2019. Nomination Conditions Nominations must be in writing; Each club shall be entitled to nominate or second one individual only; Only nominations made by clubs affiliated to England Athletics as at 1 July 2019 will be accepted The nomination form must be signed by The Club Representative nominated; The Chair or Secretary of the eligible affiliated club making the nomination; The Chair or Secretary of four other eligible affiliated club supporting the nomination The clubs nominating and seconding a candidate must carry at least 15 votes in total as at 1 July 2019.
