2025/2026 Cross Country Season

As the dark nights close in, we can start to think about the Cross Country season.  Some of the best training you can do to get you fit and ready for the spring events in 2026.  They are all team events but you also compete as an individual.

Off road shoes (trail or fell) or cross country spikes should be worn unless the courses are very dry.

For all these events an official Doncaster AC club vest must be worn (not a training top) – see the photo at the bottom of this page. If you do not wear one you will not be alowed to run.

All members from U11 (some are U13) age group to 70+ years old, regardless of ability are welcome to take part. As a club, DAC encourages as many people as possiable to take part.

The events are great value, for example the South Yorkshire League cost £10 for your number.  If you do all 4 races its just £2.50 a race, but you don’t have to do all 4.

The cross country club championships are awarded on completing 3 out of the 4 races in the South Yorkshire Cross Country League, this must include the 4th one.

Registration Via the cabin – see Pam – Numbers are £10. You are given a number which you pin (with atleast 4 pins to the front of your vest, you keep the number and use it for all 4 races) .

Sunday 16th November at Penistone Showground

Saturday 13th December/Sunday 21st December at Graves Park, Sheffield

Ages as at 31st August preceding the League season (i.e. Runners must be UNDER on that day). Under 11s must be at least 8 on the day of the race.
