Gold, Silver and Bronze

Doncaster AC juniors excelled at the Regional Area Championships, bringing home gold, silver and bronze medals for their outstanding efforts. The Northern regionals were held at Middlesbrough, while the Midlands were held at Nuneaton.

Nicole Lannie, virtually unbeaten in the u15 girls 75m hurdles, produced some excellent hurdling.  Nicole won her heat by a clear margin then in the final beat the northern indoor and intercounties hurdles champion to equal her best time of 11.53s into a headwind to win the Northerns u15 girls 75m hurdles title and the gold medal podium position.

At the Midlands regional championships, Morgan Spink ran the u15 girls 75m hurdles to qualify for the final with a time of 12.27s.  The heats of the 300m was after the hurdles and Morgan comfortably won her heat in 43.47s.   The final of 300m saw Morgan run her socks off, to finish the runner up with a new personal best time of 41.72s and a new DAC club record, which also moves her to 18th in the uk rankings and onto the all time uk rankings list.  Morgan then had to run the final of the 75m hurdles as well, but had just only 15 minutes to recover from the 300m final and her legs had not fully recovered, but still finished in a creditable 5th place.

Niamh Latibeaudiere won a bronze medal in the u13 girls 200m with a time of 28.22s at the Northern championships and also set a new personal best time of 13.51s to finish just outside the medals in 4th place in the 100m final. Niamh also finished in a creditable 5th place in long jump final.

Minnie Dunbar also ran in the Northerns in the u15 girls 100m and 200m and had creditable runs in both.
