The 2017 Saucony National Cross Country Championships will take place on Saturday 25th February at Wollaton Park, Nottingham.

PLEASE NOTE (CLUB TENTS): Due to limited space a drop off area is available for any club who is bringing a club tent. They MUST apply for a DROP OFF PASS to a special area, so that they can be nearer to the tent area. Please include an SAE for pass, NO SAE NO PASS. NO PASS NO DROP OFF. The pass can only be issued by Kirsty Marshall see address on the Dropoff request form.

ALL ATHLETES MUST WEAR CLUB COLOURS. Failure to do so will lead to disqualification

Changing
There is a large marquee allocated for this, see site map.

Presentations will be presented to winning individuals and teams at 2.00 pm and 4.00 pm in the main marquee.

Programmes will be on sale at the event for the price of ₤3 and will include course maps.

Registration
Competitors numbers & chips are to be collected by an appointed team representative from the registration marquee. In accordance with recent practise the numbers & chips for the first 5 races will be available from 9.00am and the other 5 from 11.00am.

Chip Timing will again be used . Failure to return your chip will be subject to a £7.00 penalty charge per chip. NOTE: All clubs MUST have paid their affiliation fees to ENGLAND ATHLETICS otherwise they cannot take part in our championships.

Travel Directions for cars

There will be two entrances in use for cars.

The main entrance on the day will be accessed off Middleton Boulevard (NG8 1BT) and the directions to this gate are as follows:-

From the West, M1 Junction 25 follow A52 into Nottingham for 3 miles. At Priory Island (Miller & Carter Steakhouse), continue straight on A52, Wollaton Park is on your left and the University of Nottingham is on the right for 3/4 mile until you reach the Nottingham Ring Road A6514. At the island bear left signed Mansfield A60 / M1 North onto the slip road for A6514 ring road for 100 yards. Wollaton Park Gate is on the left off the slip road and will be signed.

From the South, M1 Junction 24 take A453 for 6 miles into Nottingham passing Trent University Campus on the left. ¼ mile after NTU, downhill, straight on at the next major cross road / traffic lights. After 200 yards get in right hand lane. The road rises and curves left and merges with A52 over Clifton Bridge / River Trent following main ring road signed M1 North / A60 Mansfield. 400 yards further on Showcase Cinema is on the left. Get in the middle lane which leads onto the Dunkirk flyover. Go over the flyover in the left lane. The University of Nottingham is on the left, QMC hospital on the right. Exit left up A52 slip road and get in to the middle lane at the Island. Go straight on over island and back onto slip road for 100 yards. Wollaton Park Gate is left off the slip road and will be signed.

From the East A52 as above from Clifton Bridge.

From the North M1 Junction 26 follow A610 into Nottingham for 3 miles. Turn right onto A6514 ring road signed Derby A52 / Birmingham A453. After 1 mile follow ring road around “Crown” island (Crown Pub on right) then exit left off island following ring road a further ½ mile and bear left up slip road for A52, get in right hand lane, U turn round island and go back down slip road 100 yards. Wollaton Park Gate is left off slip road and will be signed.

Alternatively…
Early arrivals and all “Club Tent Permit” holders can go to the usual “Main Entrance” on Wollaton Road which is well sign posted off the A609 Ilkeston Road, (NG8 2AE). This will only remain open to cars for a limited time until the lower car parks are full (Estimate 11am). After this the gates will be closed and all cars must go to the Middleton Boulevard gate as above.

Car Parking – £5 Per Car

All car parking is adjacent to the Start / Finish Area with a maximum 300m walk. In the Park please follow steward’s directions and have £5 payment ready. The majority of the car parking is on grass which if wet will be slippery. Please proceed very slowly with care and avoid wheel spin and damage to the ground. Parking immediately outside the park and surrounding streets will be prohibited with Police no waiting cones. Cars parked illegally will be lifted and taken to the Nottingham City Council compound.

Coaches / Minibuses should use only the Main Entrance on Wollaton Road (NG8 2AE) (off Ilkeston Road A609) and show “parking permit” clearly in windscreen to assist stewards and prevent queuing on the road. £20 per coach with pre-ordered pass only. No pass = no entry. download coach parking form

Public Transport
From Nottingham Railway Station walk 200 yards to Broad Marsh Bus Station. The Trent Barton “Indigo” bus leaves every 10 minutes. Get off at Queens Medical Centre walk 100 yards uphill to traffic island turn right along the left hand side of Middleton Boulevard for 100 yards to Wollaton Park gates and follow signs. There are also Nottingham City Transport buses numbers 30, 35 and 36 which leave Victoria Bus Station (10 minute walk) and stop outside the Wollaton Road (Main) entrance.
