Results update 15 May 2016 – North Lincs Half Marathon and 50 Parkrunners!
The week after the Doncaster 5k is the Scunthorpe 10k – 20 July 2016. For our members who are marshalling our 5k this is a nice local race to have a go at.

North Lincs Half Marathon – 15 May 2016
Fantastic course, about as flat as you could hope for with great weather conditions. 17 Doncaster AC runners took part this year, may running their first half marathon after doing a beginners running course with the club. Some great PB’s as well. I know the new half marathon runners will be grateful to LiRF Vicky Royle for putting the training schedule together and Tracey for organising some runs (and others I am sure).
Caroline Wheelhouse was first V55 lady to finish overall and Caroline is a
lready ranked #2nd in the UK for 2016.
Angella said “First half marathon for a lot of us, and couldn’t have picked a better one. Nice flat fast course (except for the surprise hill at the end!) Lots of great support from the locals too. We loved running through the stadium at the end!”
Gill said “Thought it was well organised, plenty of water stations and took advantage of the jelly babies and sponges! Didn’t like the hill at the end before going over bridge, was uneven! Plenty of support along the way and great to finish in the stadium “
Andrea said “Fantastically organised. I stuck to my plan for 10 miles to run at 8.30 but my legs went a bit wobbly for the last 3 miles, so did them slightly slower. Got a PB, so I am well chuffed. Loved the water and sponge, but not the marshal on the bike who seemed to be with me most of the way saying “its so much easier riding this bike”. I nearly pushed him off the bloody thing lol. Made me chuckle afterwards though”
Caroline said “Well organised, good number of water stations, loved the sponge and of course jelly baby stations. Fab finishing in the stadium. Volunteers did great job. Nice muffins!”

Parkruns
New record in participation, 50 Doncaster AC members ran at a parkrun this week, competing at 7 different parkruns.
