Three Castles 30 miles Ultra – 23 June 2019

Angie Clark wrote ” So yesterday I completed my first Ultra Marathon. 30 miles (32.12 to be precise!). We had to follow little orange tags in the trees, they often were pretty tough to find & we had to ‘investigate’ a few time to make sure we took the right path. The terrain was so mixed that at times there were nettles up to our armpits, we had to run through uneven fields with hidden ‘dips’ nearly taking our ankles with them a few times.. past cows (with horns) that didn’t want to move, then a steep hill 3 miles before the finish ! I ache all over today, I have a few blisters and a sore knee but it was great, thank you so much to Sarah Smith and Becky HB for keeping me going during the tough times xx “

Pennine Barrier 50 Mile – 22 June 2019

Allan Carson wrote: “#Pennine barrier 50 – As expected did not disappoint, all ways a great GB Ultra race ,massive thank you to Scott Carson for pushing me and taking the lead deciding when to run and when to walk to save energy, a big thank you to the support crew Sharon Carson my biggest supporter (She has a lot to put with 🙄) Sam Carsonsupport and queen of the bbq , Jody Breeze Was Elders support and cooked breakfast queen , thank you to Rose James Was Thompson for running parts of the race with us and encouraging us to keep going ,Martin James support and photos , Andy Stretch Breeze for support and going between check points on his bike apparently it was a bit hilly 🤔, Tom Williamson support and beer at end of race much appreciated 😀, Steph x cookson , for doing me out of my gold medal by picking up a cornflakes box 🤣 “

I had two goals for this race, finish in the top ten and in under 10 hours! Smashed them both, amazing day running! At Doncaster first to finish was Carl RYDE and first DAC lady to finish was Justyna FELCZEREK . The top 5 age grade times were Kevin NEWMAN , Simon WRIGHT , Phil BUSSEY , Carl RYDE, Joe PHILLIPS.

Carl also set a new V40 record.
