Dam Flask Relays – 28 June 2016
We had a great evening (despite the rain) with a fantastic team effort at these road relays. 23 Doncaster AC athletes formed 5 ladies teams of 3 and 2 men’s teams of 4. No one had to run 2 legs which is always a bonus. Some of our athletes only started running a few months ago so great to see the enthusiasm for club events rubbing off on them already. This was also Partially Sighted runner Sharron’s first relay event and she was guided by Martin James.
Special mention to Kevin Waugh who was a reserve runner and he came to support the runners. Thanks also to Jody for baking buns for our enjoyment after the race. Thanks also to Phil and Claire who offered to stand in at short notice so we could still field complete teams.
Fastest 50, 17th fastest lady overall was Marie-Louise Taylor (who passed 8 runners on leg 3) and 24th fastest man was Simon Wright (who finished 7th fastest on leg B passing 10 runners).
Men’s teams (Winning team Hallamshire Harriers 75:37, fastest leg Andy Heyes 16:58). 76 teams competed.
