Request for marshalls at the Northern XC Champs 14 Jan.  Please see Kev Lincoln if you can help.

“We have been asked to marshal at the Northern XC Champs. at Pontefract Racecourse on Saturday 24th January 2015. The role involves setting up a section of the course and marshaling a crossing point, as we did 2 years ago. We have to be on site for 8am and finish about 4pm. Packed meals are provided.

I would be grateful if you are able to support this event from our Club, as we know how important marshals are for races to be successful.”

Ward Green 6 – 28 December 2014

139 athletes competed in this race with Paul Bond finishing in 37th place with a time of 40:31, well done Paul.

 

Cleethorpes 10k – 1 January 2015

It was a windy morning with approximately 430 athletes from across the region descending on Cleethorpes.  Nice race, you don’t see much of the sea as the race goes inland but its a PB course if its not windy (unless your called Rose and you run a PB regardless)!

New Yesrs Day parkruns – Pontefract and Nostell Priory

Special mention to George Phillips and Paul Brown who did the double by running at Pontefract and Nostell Priory.  New Years day is only day that parkruns can adjust the start time and Pontefract went for 9am start and Nostell Priory a 10:30 start. The turn out was amazing with 322 at Pontefract and 432 at Nostell Priory.  George was 4th to finish at Pontefract and 9th to finish at Nostell Priory.  Paul ran a PB on his second one on the course.

At George parkrun (South Africa!) Lee-Ann McGarry remembered her bar-code and had a great run finishing in 32:38 (136th place out of 435 athletes).

At Doncaster 3 January 120 runners took part, a great turnout. 18 DAC took part and our athletes have now completed the course 1002 times.  First to finish was Tom Morris who also ran a PB of 1:06.

Phil Bussey was highest age graded athlete to finish and George Phillips was third (both on below photo).
