Unofficially Doncaster Junior Athlete records a new British best performance
Nicole Lannie’s recent u17 women indoor pentathlon score of 3686 points using the 60m sprint instead of the standard 800m, has we think improved the British best points score by just 4 points. The previous best was set by Sarah Claxton (3682 points) at Crystal Palace, way back on the 21st January 1996 and held the recorded best right up to 2006 when the power of 10 rankings took over recording ranking lists.
Attached information found from the GB Athletics statistics web site.
GB Athletics web site held all the record statistics for this pentathlon event as above, until the Power of 10 results web site took over the all the records from 2006. We have approached Athletics Weekly, but they use the Power of 10 rankings lists. We were also informed that Power of 10 no longer provide ranking lists for this event and say that only Gateshead now hold this type of meeting, since Nicole Lannie now holds the meeting record for the NECAA u17 women’s indoor pentathlon event at Gateshead, it must be a new British Best unless anyone else knows different and holds this type of meeting with a points score greater than 3686.
It’s been a great indoor season for Nicole Lannie, who now holds a world IAAF u18 women 60m hurdles indoor ranking in 92nd position for her time of 8.76s set at Sheffield and actually 3rd in her age year. Mike
