Yorkshire County track and field championships

image1Four of the best from talented Doncaster AC junior athlete Nicole Lannie at the recent Yorkshire Track and Field Championships, last weekend. On day 1 Nicole competed in both the Shot Put and 80m sprint, in the heats of the 80m sprint, Nicole set a new pb of 11.28s judged the same time as the winner. In the final, Nicole had a better start and was the convincing winner over the finish line, recording a new personal best time in 11.13s moving her to 3rd on the power of 10 UK rankings, next to the Shot where Nicole displayed her throwing talent and produced an excellent personal best throw of 8.57m to win gold, putting her just outside the top 10 in the UK.

Sunday day 2, Nicole was once again in great form in the high jump, clearing image2all her opening heights and cleared 1.43m to win the gold medal, Nicole decided to raise the bar and just failed to clear 1.48m.  In the long jump Nicole jumped an excellent 4.78m to win the gold medal podium position, just outside her seasons best of 4.80m.

Nicole is currently 7th in the high jump and 4th in the long jump in the UK, 1st for 70m hurdles and the Pentathlon under 13 girls rankings.
