Great North Run – 11 September 2016

Joint men’s captain Phil said “Just wanted to say, today is what the club is about and what facebook pages like this are about. Thank you all for supporting the club and the runners today. Every post has been enthusiastic and positive and is exactly what this page should be about! Sharing success and achievement, on an individual level. Cheers for the support team! Well done to everyone who ran not only today, but all year and the future”.

Wishing Trevor Lambert a speedy recovery, he was in pain for the entire race.

East Coast Clasic 10k – 11 Septeber 2016

Caroline Wheelhouse won her age group, she wrote “Great day at the Mablethorpe 10k – not a fast time, but a great solid and controlled effort – best I’ve done in ages – as part of my marathon taper, and a real confidence booster, with loads left in the tank. Good race, lots of sand on the course (well it is the seaside) to make it interesting in racing flats, big mug of tea, equally big bacon sandwich and a paddle afterwards. Couldn’t be better!”

Bawtry Forrest Trail Race – 11 September 2016

What a great turnout from the club in this local trail race, great conditions and a fantastic goodie bag and t-shirt at the finish.  Thanks to the supporters including Sandra and Isobel.  Speedy recovery to Jane Bartlett who took a fall.

Prize winners were Simon Wright (1st to finish), Martin James (3rd to finish), Lisa Fouweather (1st Junior Lady) and Rose James (First V35 Lady).
