 London Marathon 13 April 2014

DAC had 5 athletes competing at the London Marathon who had mixed fortunes, still fantastic running everyone!

Caroline Wheelhouse ran an inspiring race running a PB for 4 minutes, finishing first in her category and she is ranked number 1 on power of 10!

Carl became unwell at 8 miles but stuck it out till 18 miles when 10151158_10152281670941166_3739345931265181647_nthings got really bad.  He decided to continue on and finish which as we all know is a very difficult thing to do when your target is out of reach and your in pain.  “Running has it’s ups and downs. To be honest you just have to laugh, enjoy it and take what comes. The bad days make the good ones so much more special. I will be back! I’ll keep smiling and enjoying my 78 bottles of Lucozade over the next few months”.

Keith was aiming for 3:50 and going on his East Hull 20 time he was well on for this but he struggled badly from 17 miles.  He still had a fabulous day!  You can sponsor Keith here.

This was Alan’s 4th Marathon in the last 4 years and it was his 2nd fastest so a solid performance.

Rosemary ran the Tokyo marathon a few weeks ago and she managed to go 8 minutes quicker at London!  It looks like she ran her best time since 2010 so she is going from strength to strength.

DAC Friend Paul Nugent had a great run “Just finished #Londonmarathon Legs howling but absolutely delighted. Broke 4 hours on a warm day and loved every (aching) minute of it. Enjoy a taste of the post-race atmosphere.”  Visit Paul’s blog here.
