Results update 16 July 2018 – York 5k, Life’s a beach, Dalby Forrest Half Marathon and parkruns
Club Championships update – “Well done to everyone who entered the Round Donny Run in the searing heat last weekend. I’ve updated the club champs with the results. Please note, I’ve included solo and pair runners in the results, so your position is based on where you finished among people from both categories, so the positions are slightly different to those published in each individual category. I hope that makes sense.
We have a new overall male leader in George Laing, and Rose James Was Thompson still leads the ladies. We also have some new age category leaders in Mark Webster (MV40), Marie-Louise Taylor (WV40) and Jimmy Osborne (MV30).

York 5k Series – 12 July 2018
Caroline Wheelhouse ran this certified 5k race finishing with a time of 20:21. This ranks Caroline as 2nd fastest V60 lady in the UK for 2018. Well done Caroline, another brilliant performance and sets the clubs V60 record. The next race is on 9 August if you want a go.
Life’s a beach – 15 July 2018
This off road race on sand dunes took place yesterday and the 5k race was won by junior athlete, Jack Pell in a time of 22:55. Great running on a tough course.
Dalby Forrest Half Marathon – 15 July 2018
The following report sent by Mark Webster “The race was one third trails and stony paths and the other two thirds through the woods where the route was littered with fallen trees and other woodland debris. When you weren’t dodging them you were ducking beneath branches, dodging thistles etc whilst also making sure you didn’t turn your ankle as the ground was really uneven.
It was a really challenging event, imagine the Trunce as a half marathon, I’d say it was tougher than that
As for me, I did it in 2:05:04 which is 23 minutes slower than my road PB which tells you how hard a race it is. I managed 39th out of 189 and was first V45 to finish”
