Liverpool to Manchester 50 mile Ultra – 19 April 2019

Simon Jennings write “Liverpool to Manchester 50 mile Ultra done! 13th overall and in a time of 8 hr 6 mins 59 seconds!

That was a brutally hard race, really hot, no wind or shade at all. Super flat canal routes that destroy your legs. But I’m super happy with my time and place, I ran to the limit of what I can do today.

Yet again another fantastic race by GB ultras, I still fully believe it’s the amazing volunteers that makes these events so special.

Also a massive thanks to Martin James And Martin Hookway from DAC for the messages of encouragement during the race, you wouldn’t believe how motivating it is to know people are watching.

And finally a super massive thank you to Martin MacDonald and Kimberley Samantha for having us all last night and for taking me to the start line at 4am. And to Kelly Jennings for being at the finish line and for being so understanding and supportive with my “small” running obsession.

That’s my 6th Ultra in the bag, still so many more to do”

Epworth Easter Egg Trail 10k – 19 April 2019

Prizes for age group winners Shaz Wood, Rosemary Armstrong, Jack Pell, Mariusz Felczerek, Roy Turton and Paul Bond. Jane Purchase was 3rd lady overall. An amazing turnout for Doncaster AC with 33 runners from the club taking part, well done all.

1st and 2nd to finish for DAC were Mariuz and Jack, photo by John Rainsforth. Great running both of you.

Natalie wrote “Great Day at Epworth 10k yesterday, I hated every minute of it until I actually crossed the finish line, it was extremely hot, no breeze or shade & I wasn’t expecting those stairs 😭 Well done to everyone 👏🏻 & I know no-one likes a bragger but I’m feeling very proud this morning as I just realised I came 3rd female in my age category, not a bad achievement to say I only completed the Beginners this time last year! ”

Great support as always by out athletes and we are even getting good at team photos.
