Doncaster AC is pleased to be hosting our usual races again this year, the entries for the Sandall Beat 10k, Town Centre 5k and Cusworth 10k are now open as well as our Spring Open Meeting.
Salford 10k – 25 March 2016
Carl Ryde ran a storming race setting a new club record for 10k, breaking his own record he set 5 years ago. Carl finished in 4th place with a time of 31:37. The winning time was 31:00. Carl is well into his marathon training, he is running the London again and we hope he has another great race at London.
East Hull 20 – 20 March 2016
Conditions were good, dry, sunny (cool at the start), just a slight breeze. Caroline Wheelhouse won her age group. Caroline, Marie and Janet won the 3rd ladies team prize. This 20 mile race is a tester for those doing spring marathons, some of our runners had not run 20 miles before so well done all.
Katey had to withdraw at 8 miles due to knee pain, her big target is the London Marathon and we whish her a speedy recovery for this.

Cardiff Half Marathon – 26 March 2016
James Osbourne ran this half marathon despite being ill. He finished in 2488th place with a time of 1:42:42.
Gainsborough 10k 20 March 2016 – Final Results
First of all thanks to Tracey Ellis for organising a coach to the race. Thanks to Joe Ormshaw for taking hundreds of great photos of our runners. Thanks to everyone that came and supported and special mention to the guide runners Susan Beeby guiding Clair and Stephen Layland / Sarah Skelton for guiding Sharon.
Too many PB’s to mention, lots of first time runners to the 10k distance, well done all.
Joe wrote “It was very strange for me today to be stood on the sidelines instead of at the starting point.. but I loved capturing the events of the day. Seeing those super fast runners who came in first and the pure determination and pain on their faces was amazing…even that guy who did the exorcist impression and all his bright green gels came back up right in the finishers funnel! Then seeing the guy pushing another guy in a wheelchair, and a woman pushing her baby in a buggy.. all …so crazy fast!! But most of all.. seeing the pure volume of DAC vests coming up that 
stretch and into the finishers funnel… it was awesome guys! I was so proud to be wearing my DAC club top and be cheering you all over that finish line and capturing that moment! I really do have a sore throat from all the shouting I did! xx Team DAC totally smashed Gainsborough 10K.. here’s to the next one guys xx”

1:17:55 with numb toes. Claire Bunting and I made a good team today. Stephens mum and Dad ringing the cow bells got us to run faster at the end. Well done to all team DAC we are a force to be reckoned with. My first 10k and my first race guiding I am thrilled and proud.
I could not have imagined completing this back in September when I started beginners.”

Dash of the Titans – 26 March 2016
Wayne Martison, Becci Barlow and Trish Murphy-Rush ran this adventure race.
Becci Barlow said “It was 5k, we had to get in water and go under a fence just to get to the start! Tyre carries, road cone carries, big pits, fences, hay bales, through woods and brambles, through the most disgusting stinking swamp, and a final rinse off in a pool of water and cage crawl and final dunk under logs to get to the finish!”
Trish Murphy-Rush said “It was supposed to be 5k but was about 5 miles!! Lol we had to carry a tyre up & down hills and then through a swamp that was chest high… With the most putrid smelling vile disgusting water ever!!! there were lots & lots of hay bales to launch yourself over, deep ditches to get out of, brambles to shred any skin on your legs, walls, comes to carry, tractor tyres to flip, a swamp of freezing cold water to crawl through.., before the start!!! Lol it was lots of fun.

Massive well done to Nicola DEVINE (1st lady) for breaking 20 minutes for the first time at Doncaster. Christopher MORAN was first overall at Doncaster. Great return for Phil BUSSEY who has been injured since 1st January.
