Doncaster 5k rearranged for 18 July – Click here for details

We need volunteers for race marshals at the Doncaster town centre 5k on Wednesday the 18th of July. This is your chance to put something back into your club and help make this another successful event for DAC. If you’re not running, could you please spare a couple of hours to help marshal the route. We will be meeting outside the Mansion House at 6:00. Anyone can help out, not just DAC/Pacer members but family and friends are all welcome to come along and marshal – just message me by commenting under this post if you are free – the more marshals the better as we can then cover and even double up at stations. Please let me know if you can help out as soon as possible so I can get things organised. Please let Eddie Fletcher know if you can help out.

Round Donny Run – 8 July 2018

What better way to spend the hottest day of the year so far than running around our home town?  Brilliant support on route from the marshals / feed stations.  We also had loads of support from Doncaster AC members and other local friends who were marshaling or supporting, many thanks to you all.

Prizes for 1st male team (Stuart Lindsay / John Sheerin) and 1st female team (Rose James / Janet Hampson).  We also had 2nd solo male (Jimmy) overall and 2nd solo female (Mazza) overall to finish.  Almost 30 of the runners were from Doncaster AC making up nearly a third of the field.

Special mention to Diane Polwin who celebrated her birthday by running the race!

Some of our members did not finish the race, it was very tough in the heat and we know a couple of you went off course.  Hoping you all recover quickly.

In addition to the below runners we had one runner in the relay, well done to Caroline Bond, part of Team Charter.

Burn Valley Half Marathon – 8 July 2018

Shaz was on pacing duties and enjoyed it – “A hard hilly course in horrendous heat- but thoroughly enjoyable run through the stunning scenery of North Yorkshire. So liberating to just run with the hubby – both treating it as a long training run with no thought whatsoever about time and no consideration of racing! Highly recommended Burn Valley Half Marathon! (23rd female – not too bad since run the majority in Z1)”

PB’s for Caroline WHEELHOUSE (5th best Age Grade in the UK), Mike CLEASBY, Rhys GIBSON, Kris CALVERT, Julie CULL, Amanda GODDARD.

First timers were Jody BREEZE, Andy BREEZE (Birthday boy).

At Doncaster Rhys GIBSON set a DAC record and ran the 2nd fastest ever time at Doncaster parkrun.  Sharon MAUGHAN was first DAC lady to finish.
