NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS TRIUMPH FOR DAC PARA ATHLETES
DAC para athletes Leaha Dixon, Kayden Roe, Matthew Whitehead and William Baxter pulled out all the stops to win multiple medals at the CP Sport National Championships in Doncaster on 21 September 2019.
The finale of the CP Sport national athletics series held on a glorious autumn day attracted almost 50 competitors from the UK, Ireland, Jersey and the Netherlands. The programme included ambulant, wheelchair and racerunning races on the track and seated and ambulant field events.
On the track, T35 sprinter Leaha won silver in 100m in 24.24s, silver in 200m in 51.34s and gold in 400m in 1.54.84. T37 sprinter Kayden won gold in 100m in 15.82s and gold in 200m in 34.44s. T20 runner Matthew won gold in 200m in 29.62s and gold in 400m in 1.14.86.
In the field William secured gold in shot put with 9.82m and gold in discus with 33.33m.
