Trailblazer Clumber Park 10k – 28 June 2014

Dean Watson won this hilly 10k race with a time of 36:03.  Well done Dean.  If any other DAC athletes ran please let me know as the results don’t list clubs 🙁

Doncaster parkrun 28 June 2014

Thanks to Stuart Bartley, Janet Hampson and Robert Sidebottom who ran in with the Doncaster Pacers to help them complete their run.  It is the support of people like these that helps the group gain in confidence and get hooked.  The enthusiasm we see after the run is amazing.

Doncaster AC hit a milestone this week with over 100 of our members having now completed the Doncaster parkrun.  Well done to each and every one of you for helping the club hit this milestone after just 40 events and if you have not tried it for a few weeks come back and try the course now it is dry.  We still have lots of runners who have not tried it yet, just register here and give it a try.

It was great to see DAC performing so well again with 1st and 2nd were CaptureGeorge and Joseph (PB) and 1st and 2nd lady’s were Georgina and Chloe Craven (who tried the parkrun for the 1st time this week).

PB’s for Joseph (17 seconds), Robert (22 seconds), Georgina (3 seconds), Simon (12 seconds), Ruth (41 seconds), Diane (21 seconds) and Suzanne (an incredible 2 and a half minutes).

Welcome to first timers Chloe, Sundip, Sarah and Rose and thanks again guys for getting Doncaster AC through 100!

Rosemary Armstrong and George Phillips were the highest age graded athletes to finish.

Phil Bussey ran a parkrun “freedom” circuit in 20:24.

Humber Bridge Half Marathon – 29 June 2014

Caroline Wheelhouse ran as a guide runner for blind runner Chris helping him to hit his target time.

Well done to both Adam and Stuart who ran PB’s.

Stuart wrote “Just completed Humber Bridge Half, third year on the trot and the fastest time to date. Warmed up and set off in the cold and torrential rain, which after last year when it was far too hot made for pleasant running conditions. Rain stopped at around 8 miles out and it was then quite warm. Quads were hurting after the ‘hill @ 9 miles’ but stuck at it. Hammered myself going over the bridge to finish in a new Personal Best (chip time) of 01:28:55. Chuffed to say the least

Mizuno Endure Run 24 – 28 to 29 June 2014

“Crackin weekend despite the torrential rain and storms. With a team of 6 against teams of 8 we still managed 18th place over the 24hr race. I managed 35mi before 3:30am then decided to stop due to stomach and back pain. As a team we knocked out 185mi. Now it’s rest time, it all starts again in a months time with TR24 solo attempt”.  Martin Hookway.
