SEASON FINISHES IN STYLE FOR DONCASTER CP ATHLETES

The Cerebral Palsy Sport 2015 Athletics Series concluded with a glittering finale for three Doncaster Athletic Club athletes at the CP Sport National Championships in Nottingham on 19 September.

The event held at the Harvey Hadden Sports Complex saw 16 year old T35 sprinter Leaha Dixon take a clean sweep of gold medals in the female 100m, 200m and 400m races. Matthew Whitehead, 23, took golds in the F20 javelin and T20 400m where he improved his personal best by a stunning 3 seconds. F36 specialist thrower 20 year old William Baxter competing in open competitions secured discus and javelin gold medals and silver in shot put. William was also awarded the CP Sport Senior Athletics Series 2015 Male Field trophy.

The Championships were held in warm, autumn sunshine and featured ambulant, wheelchair and race running athletes from the UK and Ireland including a number of medallists and world record holders from the recent CPISRA World Games.
