Race information for 1st road league on 8 April.

Wednesday, 8th April Three Merry Lads, Lodge Moor, Sheffield.

From the Sheffield Inner Ring Road take the A57, passing Sheffield University and Weston Park Hospital. Turn left on reaching Crosspool, signed for Claremont Hospital and Hallam FC. Continue on this road to Lodge Moor. There is a large car park just after the Sportsman pub. Please do not park in the Sportsman car park and only park in the Three Merry Lads car park if you are staying after the race. Toilets are at the Three Merry Lads.”

The Trunce #1 – 30 March 2015

It was raining and windy, bitterly cold so conditions quite difficult. I ran my slowest time on the course, just one fall. If you want to know about the trunce click here for some hints and tips. You might as will click just to see some photos of our mens captain looking like ET, good job he does not read this website. Next date is 20 April.

The winning time was 25:25. My time was 31:55 in 44th place on this 3.8 mile course. About 350 finished. Very good hill training.

Salford 10k – 3 April 2015

Eddie said “Salford 10k under the belt… 38.42 official time and 3rd vet 55. Well pleased as I ran the last 4k with my lace undone and clenching my toes to try and stop my trainer flying off!!!”

The race was won by Gareth Raven M40 in 30:40. 545 athletes finished.

Helmsley 10k – 5 April 2015

Mark Higham ran this tough 10k 20 seconds faster this year than last year.

“Quite pleased with today’s result on a tough hilly multi terrain course and off the back of a couple of really crap weeks and next to no running!

Completed the day with fish and chips and belly full of ice cream in lovely sunny helmsley with all the family a spot on day out.

Kids loved it to with joe being 1st boy home in the 9 to 10 age group and Lucas coming out of retirement on the running side of things to finish in the same age group, I think the finishing prize of an Easter egg prompted his return to running!

Not sure but Lewis could make his debut at next years event!”

The winning time was 35:26, Mark finished in 11th place.

Parkruns – 4 April 2015

Another record, we had athletes competing at 8 parkruns on Saturday with 30 runners taking part! Doncaster parkrun is planning to bring back the paced events, the first Saturday of the month so I suggest we target this as a club event, in club kit if you want now our time trials are finished.

Fred Dunn visited Harrogate for the first time, Paul Brown visited Hillsborough and Jane Young visited Clumber Park for the first time.
