Results update – Laxton 10k, Scunthorpe 10k and parkrun
Laxton 10k – 9 July 2014
This was a windy evening with High Wind warning signs on the motorway. Its a lovely flat course and quite exposed on narrow roads. Sausage sandwiches at the end, what more could you want?
Well done to Justin Twomey who won the M40 prize. I ran my first 10k in 8 months and was pleased with a time of 37:39 in the windy conditions. Rose James got a PB by 1 second. Marie-Louise Taylor ran her first competitive 10k finishing just behind Rose. Ruth Hunter ran her fastest 10k of the year (PB?) and Vicky Davies smashed the hour for the first time!

Scunthorpe 10k – 11 July 2014
Jonathan Frary ran for DAC finishing in 6th place with a time of 38:10. The race was won by Simon Saxbu UA with a time of 35:33. 171 runners finished.

Doncaster parkrun – 12 July 2014
Next week is a special week at Doncaster parkrun. The local running clubs are being invited to run in their club vests to help promote running clubs to the many unattached runners who take part.
So please remember your Doncaster AC club vests and lets have a great turnout. Rose is baking fudge as a treat for you guy’s and we don’t want to go home with any! 111 runners from our club have now done the Doncaster parkrun and the course is very fast now, probably the fastest its ever been. We still have lots of runners who have not done it yet so come and give it a try, its free and a great atmosphere.
20 Doncaster AC athletes took part today at the Doncaster parkrun this week.
George Phillips won the race and he was the highest age graded athlete to finish. We had lots of great PB’s, – Joseph Philips (50 seconds), George Westerman (1:34), Bill Topping (15 Seconds), James Flanagan (2:21), Becci Senior (2:26), Sarah Green (1:21), Claire Whiteley and Karen Bartley (20 seconds).
Welcome to first timers John Helliwell, Jennii Downii and Lindsey Swain, we hope you enjoyed it.
Janet Kerry, Rose James and Robert Sidebottom were all kind enough to run as pacers to help the Doncaster Pacers get around and to get PB’s. I ran with Mark Hudson who got a PB. Anyone from Doncaster AC or the Doncaster Pacers who wants to get a PB give us a shout and we will try to pace you to help you.
